Running may slightly increase the size of your thighs. Different people has different genetic and bone structure. Some put on muscles on thighs faster and some don’t. End of the day, it depends on your body type and intensity of exercise.

Flu is respiratory illness. Sometimes you may have trouble breathing properly. Although exercise is a good prevention for getting sick, but you shouldn’t exercise when you have a flu.

Some people experience cracking sound in the joints when lifting. This may due to gases are bubbled out from synovial fluid when lifting, creating cracking sound. If you do not experience pain, you should be fine.
